Sixth & Wee Presents: Conversations on Jewish Life in DC
FEbruary 17, 7:30-9:00pm. Doubles.
Author Fredrik Backman writes, "...there’s such an unbelievable amount that we’re all supposed to be able to cope with these days. You’re supposed to have a job, and somewhere to live, and a family, and you’re supposed to pay taxes and have clean underwear and remember the password to your damn Wi-Fi. Some of us never manage to get the chaos under control, so our lives simply carry on, the world spinning through space at two million miles an hour while we bounce about on its surface like so many lost socks."
These words resonate with us because who hasn't felt like a "lost sock" of late? We live in an era of anxiety, and to get through each day can be a struggle, even as we have the necessary resources to do so.
We invite parents of young children to join Sixth & Wee for a conversation on Jewish life in the D.C. region. Amidst all the chaos of life, how do we find our way? What does it mean to live a life of meaning? What are the issues that you see as a priority for your family? How can Jewish living enhance how we live?
We value your participation and recognize that there are real costs for parents to participate in an evening such as this. For that reason we will reimburse each family for babysitting or travel expenses up to $75.
Sixth & I is proud to partner with The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington to present Sixth & Wee.
This event is being run in collaboration with the Micah Storefront Project and the Edlavitch JCC.
